Santana Golf & Country Club is an 18 Hole golf course par 72 of approx. 6203 metres (just under 7000 yards) in length, set in 138 acres of picturesque parkland. The golf course, sympathetically laid out by the architect Cabell B. Robinson, is set in a former avocado plantation. The final result is a magnificent course with wide and well defined fairways on level terrain, hence easily walkable, where water features play an important albeit not excessive part in the overall design. Each hole has two championship tees and two tees for general play for both men and ladies– wide and well manicured putting greens surrounded by strategically placed bunkers, filled with sand produced from crushed marble. Buggy paths are provided throughout the golf course, beautifully integrated between the rows of fruit trees. Santana Golf course is technically speaking a demanding golf course as the unique design of each hole is intended to give a continuous challenge, even for the more experienced player. The layout of the greens, well protected by greenside bunkers, as well as the many water hazards spread throughout the golf course, will challenge every golfer and require good course management as well as the use of every golf club in the bag. It is difficult to speak of a signature hole at Santana Golf as they all have something special to offer. The long Par-4 18th is one of the most demanding finishing holes along the coast according to the designer, with the lake along the right hand side and a narrow approach to the green. The 4th hole can only be defined with one word: spectacular. The views from the tee are magnificent and the ‘Campillos’ stream provides a challenging approach to the green; or what about the 8th hole, with a length of 595 metre (650 yards) considered to be the longest hole of the Costa del Sol and favouring the longer hitter; not to forget the 12th Par 3, playing downhill, with a very large undulating green, many a golfer would be happy to walk away with a three here... One of the most outstanding features of Santana Golf is without a doubt the variety in design, as each and every hole is differentiated by its own characteristics. ...
Mijas Golf International offers two 18 holes golf courses: Los Lagos and Los Olivos. These particularly flat courses are one of the most visited on the Costa del Sol in Spain. Mijas Golf is located at the Costa del Sol 4 kilometres of the N340 towards Alhaurin el Grande close to Fuengirola. The Los Lagos golf course, designed by Robert Trent Jones, was founded in 1976. Although the wide fairways and light rough provide this course a friendly character at first sight, one should be aware of the large bunkers and multiple water hazards formed by eight lakes! The par five 5th hole, 564 m, is one of the longest holes at the Costa del Sol and Andalucía. The Los Olivos golf course, also designed by Robert Trent Jones, was inaugurated in 1984. This course is shorter than Los Lagos and water hazards are less in play. Nevertheless los Olivos is not easier to beat. The fairways and greens are smaller and there is more vegetation and undulation. The Mijas Golf Resort has an unique entrance, an American style wide road swirls through the fairways and greens towards the clubhouse and the reputable Hotel Byblos Andaluz. ...

The Malaga golf course Lauro Golf has rebuilt the first 9 of its 27 holes using Rain Bird sprinklers and materials. It is now getting new John Deere equipment.
As part of Lauro Golf's improvement plan, the watering system was updated this summer. The old system was replaced with the Rain Bird IC system, which will save about 30$#37; of water. Breakdowns have gone down, each sprinkler has been customised, and the irrigated parts of the course have been redesigned so that some areas within the course are left without irrigation.
At first, it was hard to reach the goal of getting bigger driver drops in a smaller overall irrigation area. As part of the makeover, small changes have been made to holes 3, 7, and 9. Some bunkers and tees on holes 4 and 8 have also been moved.
Holes 10-18 will be renovated in summer 2024. With this next renovation and the adaptation of the third course's irrigation-holes 19 to 27 to the digital irrigation control centre, Lauro Golf can avoid over-watering and breakdowns by dedicating water to each area of the golf course.
A pending course remeasurement will allow Lauro to offer five tees, as is customary in golf, either with colours - black, white, yellow, blue, and red – or with alternative designations like 61, 58, 55, etc., or I, II, III, etc.
Dry carry on certain holes and the irrigation hardline on the course are additional major improvements.
Lauro Golf adds fairway, tee, rough, and multipurpose machines to its existing equipment to achieve this. With the recent acquisition of Club Car buggies, Lauro Golf is dedicated to offering a top-notch golfing experience, catering to enthusiasts seeking to enjoy green fees and embark on unforgettable Costa del Sol golf holidays. Course in great condition. Not very busy..
17th hole bad design. it's a long carry to get to the top of the hill with your drive. 3 out of 4 balls rolled back 120 yds across the cart path and down a another steep incline.almost onto the green of another hole. The 4th player drove to the right into the tree/rough on purpose to stop the ball rolling back.
In general a really good experience. Read more about Torrequebrada Golf

I played at Bavaria Golf Club 19th August and returned for a second round on 23rd August having played here in June 2023 - it is a 20 minute drive from the centre of Nerja not far from the A7. The course facilities are excellent and staff including Javier and Sam in the Pro Shop could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The course is currently operating under drought conditions having had little rain for almost 2 years in this part of Spain. Although the fairways are in poor condition the Tees and Greens were excellent and the varied course with many water features is very enjoyable to play. The club kindly gave us a vouchers for a complimentary drink in view of the environmental conditions and provided a frozen towel to freshen up on the back 9 which was most welcome with temperatures around 30 degrees C although with a pleasant sea breeze! I hope to return to play at the course next year perhaps a little earlier in the summer season. Read more about Baviera Golf Course

The course is very beautifully shaped. It is rather steep with a lot of up and down and really challenging. Many holes are blind holes, a few of the greens are not in the best shape. But overall very interesting to play, I would recommend it. The staff at the course is very friendly. Read more about La Cala Asia
