I got to Vidago Golf via recommendation from an Estela Golf Club member.It was worthwile my time. A course which I defenitely will play again. Weather, wind and using different tee boxes would make it a new challenge everyday. The course is fun to play and a challenge to play up to your handicap or better. The staff at Vidago is extremly friendly and helpful. Everything was prepared as we arrived and water supplied. They have a good driving range and the changing rooms were clean with everything you needed. Sittting on the clubhouse terrace afterwards, with a drink in our hands , made our day. But with ervery praise comes some blame. In my opinion this place could be rated a lot better! Little improvements: a) Distance markers (minimum 150m and 100m)on the side of the fairway, so be seen right away. The markers in the fairway were easy to be overlooked. Not everybody uses a watch or a distance finder. b) Every bunker (were quite a few...) I hit, wasn´t raked by the person in front of me, judging by the recurring sole marks. A repeating sign, that golf etiquette shouldn`t be forgotten, would help. Not every golfcourse has caddies or greenkeepers, who rake it three times a day. Larger improvement: a) The clubhouse is a big hall, which could act as a ball room. It looks very cold and could use some modifications (weather is not always good and different sized groups want their privacy). I think, it would be a must, considering the impressive sorroundings. b) I don´t know a lot about marketing, but if another Golfer wouldn´t have told me, I would have never discovered. Maybe the management want it that way? We had great weather, so we sat outside, enjoying the park and the hospitality of the very polite and friendly staff. I played Western Cliffs and Estela, both outstanding in their own way. So my judgement is subjective but hopefully helpful. I´m convinced, if they want?!, Vidago could easily move up a few ranks in the Portugese Golf ranking. Thank you! Dieter (Handicap 14)

Y el campo nos ha parecido espectacular, deseando volver er el lunes a jugarlo. -**- The treatment of Caddy Master and club staff has been fantastic. And the course seemed spectacular to us, looking forward to playing it again on Monday.

Un excellent parcours, bien dessiné et très bien entretenu. Attention, les trous 16 a 18 peuvent remettre en question la carte de score. -**- An excellent course, well designed and very well maintained. Beware, holes 16 to 18 may challenge the scorecard.

Lovely course, welcoming pro shop staff. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the rental clubs. I had the course to myself today, I did not meet another golfer.
