Course and overall facilities have gone through a significant programme of improvement since we were last there in 2021. It was in great condition, the trees have been trimmed so you can see more of the course and the driving range facilities are excellent. Great course returned to its former glory.

From start to finish the experience was amazing, we were greeted in the car park and our clubs were escorted to our buggy. The range with the track man was fantastic. The course was in amazing condition albeit the greens were very quick. Slight complaint would be that our clubs were offered to be cleaned but after a couple of drinks in the bar we went to collect our clubs and they weren’t clean but it didn’t ruin the day in anyway. Would recommend anyone to play.

I've been lucky enough to play this course many times over the past few years but its now been upgraded and its better than ever. From the greeting when your car arrives at reception, to your clubs carried to the buggies, water stations on the course, cold towels when you complete the round, clubhouse, bar, terrace, pro shop and restaurant have all have a face lift. Course investment has seen improved cart paths, lower limbs removed on trees and bunker upgrades. Back to being the best course in Vilamoura - brilliant.

Excellent Course in Great condition, Limited facilities due to renovations yet still charge rate of 194€ per person, (Exludes cost of €30 each for Buggy) Vilamoura needs to be careful they do not price themselves out of the market if not already done.... Volume of regular visitor golfers shrinking each year and when they go elsewhere it is difficult to bring them back.

Great golf course in excellent condition. Our party played it last year and wanted to come back for another go. A bit of refurbishment going on, including the clubhouse, but that didn't cause much of an issue. The staff were great apart from the ''jobs worth'' course marshall. Our shuttle buses, arranged by our Dom Pedro hotel, were very late which meant we arrived virtually on our tee time. We had to book shuttles 1hr 30 mins before tee time and were told they would be 35/40 mins. Turned up 1hr 10 mins later. We therefore had to rush around and teed off slightly late. We then had the marshall tell us we were behind time. Seemed ignorant to the issue when told and part spoiled the experience. Very disappointing. Lower rating due to this.

We were warned the facility was being refurbished and the greens had recently had work done on them. They appropriately refunded us some of the fees we paid, which was appreciated. Overall the course is one of our favourites and will definitely return.

After being advised by Tee Times maintenance work had take longer due to the dry summer we found the course in good condition compared to other courses that we have recently played, a couple of greens were still recovering (especially the first). The clubhouse is being refurbished but the temporary facilities are fine and all the staff excellent. A very enjoyable round.

Superb course, all natural, no tricks. Decent condition. A few problems with some areas on tbe Greens but reception had warned in advance. Great customer service, with Club being upfront about greens and apologies for some temp services due to clubhouse rebuild. Reduced buggy rates and free drink on buggy bar to compensate. Other clubs in area take note on how to treat paying customer (Palmares!!)

The staff, authentic older facilities, and quality of the course for sure take the #1 golf course in Portugal away from Monte Rei. The only thing that we did not like was that the holes are very close together so you always have someone around chatting. Also, sadly they were reconstructing the roads and cutting trees which disrupts the play quite heavily and there was no acknowledgement from the course that would compensate for it.

The Old Course is part of the Dom Pedro group that has 5 quality golf courses. In my opinion the Old Course is the nicest and most challenging of m all. You have to find your way in between the punishing trees. It is prety long as well from the back tees. The course was in excellent conditions when we played it. The weatherforecast for the day was bad, there were only a handfull of players on the course but we had only about 5 minutes of rain. Had a very pleasant round.
