Well again we managed to play and avoid too much rain. The course had held up very well considering the weather. There were some wet patches but that was to be expected. The greens were good and ran well. The staff were helpful and the complimentary pack up due to there being no clubhouse was appreciated.
We will be back a great test of golf. The 18th is a great hole.

The course was heavily affected by recent heavy rainfall in the last few weeks with very wet fairways. Buggies as a consequence were not allowed. The greens were in very good condition. Cart paths are in poor condition. Staff were friendly and helpful. It’s a challenging and interesting course, well worth playing

New clubhouse is being built, apparently due to open in 2027, so given this, the facilities are limited ie Portacabin for drinks with a limited range of food available. That said the course does provide a nice packed lunch to take on the course. The course could use a bit of TLC, especially the paths. We had an unfortunate experience, as the GNR closed the roads approaching the course due to a triathlon taking place. Luckily for us the staff at Pinheiros Altos came to our rescue taking us in a buggy to the borders of San Lorenzo where the staff collected us and took us to the course!

It was truly memorable. The course layout was amazing and the condition was good. No clubhouse currently but it was a nice touch to be provided with a packed lunch. If what we were told is correct, it will potentially be back at number one or two in the Algarve. Can’t wait to play it again in the future.

Friendly, relaxed and efficient welcome albeit from temporary facility as clubhouse closed which detracts greatly from the overall experience you expect from a premium golf course in this area of the Algarve. The course itself is well laid out, a good golf challenge with fairways and greens in good condition - on the negative side around the course, tee boxes are not the best and much of the cart path around the course is in real need of attention with many uneven surfaces.

Very nice holes, some with stunning views. The course is challenging but fair. Yes, there's currently no clubhouse, but the staff make up for it with their friendliness and helpfulness. The course is in very good condition. The bunkers have too much sand and, above all, too many rocks :-) The greens are very soft, making them very bumpy in the afternoon due to pitch and spike marks.
Overall a great course - a must play.

San Lorenzo has always been a great layout with some spectacular holes. The club house burning down obviously affects the experience off the course but the best way to describe on course is it is looking tired. The condition of the course generally was not up to its previous standards, bare patches in a lot of areas and excess wet patches in other areas which had been dug up by the mowers. Pathways ridiculously bumpy and need work and driving range upgrade as it is not the best. Still a great course to play but condition letting it down for now.

Having never played the course before we had high expectations as San Lorenzo is portrayed as one of the best courses in the area. We were aware that there was no clubhouse and brought food with us, however we were then presented with a complimentary packed lunch! On the whole the course was great with some very challenging holes and a high level of difficulty.
We were very disappointed with the greens however as most seemed to be suffering from some kind of disease to varying extents.

This is probably the best course in the Algarve in my opinion. The scenery and layout of the course are excellent as well as the quality of the greens. Some of the paths are a little bumpy in a buggy and there is no club house currently. However we played millionaires golf with nobody else on the course. I suppose that will change when the club house and associated apartments are completed -as will the price!!

After the fire, the stuff does everything to make us have a nice golf course, greens in good condition, pathways for the buggies pretty destroyed. But all in all a very nice experience.

Despite the lack of Clubhouse, the whole experience was very good. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the complimentary lunch pack was a good gesture to ease the lack of eating facilities.
Additionally, the course was is very good condition and greens were excellent.
Finally, my only downside of the experience was the lack of changing and bathroom facilities together with poor car parking facilities.

Exceptional and very challenging golf course. The staff were really good and took great care of us even with temporary facilities owing to clubhouse not being available.

Wem gutes Essen wichtiger ist als gutes golfen, der möge über das momentan fehlende Clubhaus klagen.
Uns hat der San Lorenzo einen unvergesslichen Golfrag beschert. Tolles und abwechslungsreiches Design. Sehr gute Qualität der Fairways und Grüns. Dass wir hier keine 10 Punkte geben können, liegt allein daran, dass man vom Service mehr darauf achten sollte, dass die Handicap Vorgaben eingehalten werden. Auf den zweiten 9 Löcher sind am Ende drei Flights auf einen Vierer aufgelaufen, die offensichtlich "nur" die Platzreife hatten und auf dem teils schweren Platz völlig überfordert waren. Schade.
Wir kommen aber auf jeden Fall wieder.

Sadly there was only a temp club house / snack bar which is outside so was quite cold and made us not stay. However the staff were very nice and accommodating plus the course was brilliant. Even without the facilities we had a great day and will definitely be returning.

What a great golf course with some truly amazing holes. This will definitely be one to remember the greens were amazing and very fast. It’s a shame about the clubhouse and I’m sure they’ll get this sorted soon but it wouldn’t stop me from coming back to play this course again in the future.

San Lorenzo was a great test of golf today. The reception staff were warm with there welcome and the complimentary pack up as the clubhouse is a temporary one was well received. The course was in good condition and the greens were fast and true. We will come back as long as the green fee does not become overpriced.

Although this course is a little rough around the edges (damaged cart paths, temporary clubhouse, some damage to greens), it’s a great layout, surrounded by beautiful homes and the sea (!!!), the people are very nice (providing us with complimentary home made sandwiches, water and energy bar), and it’s great fun + 4hr pace of play.

Really disappointing. Clubhouse burned down so relying on temporary facilities which is fair enough. However, no one seemed very interested when we were checking in, range was average, course itself was showing signs of ageing and nowhere near the level expected for the green fee. Be prepared to dodge the potholes and bumps on the cartpaths!! Buggies had no GPS. The course layout remains really strong but sadly let down by the condition overall - needs serious investment.

Course in tip top condition. 18th hole one of the most difficult to negotiate. Shame that the clubhouse has not yet been rebuilt, but the fact that payment includes hire of buggy plus packed lunch is suitable compensation.
San Lorenzo does not get the same acclaim as courses at Quinta Do Lago and Val de Lobo but in my opinion is very much equal to them.

Generally lovely course. Always has been. But it needs investment in places. No rakes in many bunkers - which is silly. Staff said the course "couldn't afford them!". Some scruffy rough and tees. Greens were OK though. The free lunch in a bag was nice but I'd rather have rakes in bunkers...!

San Lorenzo is probably my favourite course in the Algarve and despite the lack of clubhouse the staff were the friendliest anywhere and nice touch with the lunch bag. However, it is not in as good condition as it was when I last played it about 10 years ago and is in need of some investment and tlc. Some scruffy parts on the course and paths etc far from pristine. Buggies don’t have GPS and not enough sprinkler/yardage markers. I would hate to see it go the same way as Penina did some years ago as it is too good to be under-invested

From Teeboxes to greens the course was in great condition. It has the nicest scenery in Quinta, taking in the wetlands. Only small issue I have are the position of the trees on the Ladies 3rd teebox.
I hope all goes well with re-build of the club house. The temporary bar is perfect in the meantime and the complimentary lunch bag was most appreciated.

The layout of the golf course is second to none as each hole is different and a challenge for any level of golfer. It is a shame the clubhouse was a victim of fire but the staff try so hard to be welcoming with a packed lunch and portacabin bar drinks station. For those who have played the course over several years it is not maintained to the same level. It is however in decent condition and well worth a visit.

club house is gone and although there are still limited facilities and the staff were very helpful. we are paying alot of money and should be informed that they don't have a clubs house, there is one working toilet and limited facilities. Course design is v good and it should be one of the best courses around but there is a lack of maintenance and general upkeep compared to the other courses in the area. We've played this before and it was the same case a couple of years ago. the level of upkeep has fallen over the years but the price has stayed the same so I would be going to one of the other courses next time. Still an enjoyable game of golf if you can't get out elsewhere.
