Very nice course which represented a challenge but not so difficult as to impede enjoyment. OneThing that was a distraction was the incessant marketing and reminders about repairing divots which appeared on the buggy screen. Surely more occasional reminders would be sufficient?

Very pleasant round in just under 4hours today. As a twosome we were paired with a fine young Englishman who was a very good player. For senior golfers the silver tees are playable and combine challenge with a chance of making pars.

The North is a good course, but not great and it suffers in comparison to the South. Although each hole is well designed, it is necessary to drive for long distances between holes, often across roads and through housing developments. This creates a disjointed feel and breaks up the round. On the day we played some of the tee boxes were out of use, requiring us to play off some very forward tees. As a result two of the par 5s were less than 370 metres, which is way too short for a 3 shot hole. The green keepers need to find a way to keep the tees open so that the course can play at a sensible length. The service (club house, starter, buggy bar) was excellent.

We stayed in the Algarve for 10 days and played 8 different golf courses. Quinta do Lago was far and away the best of the bunch. I can’t wait to come back and play the South and Laranjal courses. The staff on the course were very friendly and it was obvious that they took tremendous pride in their facility.
