The Golf Salinas de Antigua, features a design where its morphology is particularly striking.
Countless hills, bunkers and desert areas, which are really attractive and endearing. All these elements pose endless possibilities, approaches, solutions and strategies of play, aggressive or calm. Either choice will depend on you, and how to advance your game, and your mood.
Along the route, you will find 4 large lakes that protect all or some of our 6 greens. Besides the difficulty they pose, lakes act as large reservoirs, where we store the water that we generate in our own desalination plant, intended for watering the course during night time.
As for the greens, these are simply spectacular. Large, fast, firm and slow in receiving the ball. There a few greens in the Canary Islands that have this. A great treat for golfers.
In terms of vegetation, this is scarce, for the fact that, as mentioned, an integration with the environment was sought. Fuerteventura is a desert island, so we decided to use common sense, and go for a course with vegetation typical of this environment.

I played this course last time about 6 years ago. Always an interesting challenge without pain. It is clear that economics are pressuring....nothing in the shop except 2 work desks. Buggies in the garage but can't be used. Greens and tees perfect condition, some bunkers need weeding, and sand. Water shortage has influenced certain fairways in places. I keep my fingers crossed that things can improve.

Quiet golf course with some of the water features under repair, all the greens in excellent condition. Staff friendly and efficient

Very pleasant welcome and organised. The course was in good condition and very interesting. Whilst not a long course the strategically placed hazards ensured a good test of golf. Very enjoyable day, would certainly play again.

I can only assume this property/business has struggled to recover from the pandemic. It is not blessed with a hotel that underpins the obvious recovery of its neighbour, Fuerteventura Golf Club. There is clear evidence of suspended investment. The range mats/netting are worse than tired, 3 out of the 4 man made lakes were drained, on course w/c facilities were derelict, the Pro Shop was empty (used for what looked like a temporary office) and a fleet of buggies are parked, idle, under an underwhelming clubhouse.
BUT.....BUT ,,,,,,despite the aforementioned, the course itself shows no sign of lack of care and attention. The demise of buggies must be depressing bookings.
I made two separate visits to play and I saw barely a dozen other players each time. Genuine 'course to yourself'. A pleasant walk, accuracy over length is rewarded. Although devoid of water the 'water' hazards are dominant on 6 holes. All the few staff I observed were courteous and clearly committed to making he place successful again.

Pro shop was friendly and efficient. Golf services made sure I was OK with buggy and new where practice facilities and first tee were.
The course is a nice layout not overly challenging but enough to make you think.
The condition of the fairways was not good, they were very patchy. I played winter rules to make sure I got a reasonable lie. They certainly need some work on them. The greens were OK and run fairly well. They were receptive. 2 of the lakes had been emptied for repair I assume. As I was first off on my own I got round in 2 hours which was great. With some hard work in the fairways this has the opportunity to be a good vacation golf course.

This course is sadly not in a good state. The grass on the fairways is very patchy & the general state of the bunkers and lakes give the course a look of neglect. The greens were OK, but not great, and large areas of volcanic gravel which are around most fairways are not attractive and are unfair traps. The clubhouse shop & restaurant are both very good and the staff very friendly & helpful. There are nice views to the ocean & with a bit of investment this course could be a lot better.
