Lanzarote Golf is a modern 18-hole golf course that was designed by the famous North American designer Ron Kirby, chief project designer of Jack Nicklaus.. Located between Puerto del Carmen and Tias, 5 minutes from the main hotels and beaches of Puerto del Carmen and 10 minutes from the airport. The fairways were fit into the originally wavey terrain so that the typically idyllic landscape of Lanzarote was preserved.
The course is an 18-hole, par 72 course with four par 3’s, four par 5’s and ten par 4’s, with a total of 6.133 m. length. The course was conceived to appeal to any player regardless of handicap, to enjoy the game on wide fairways and big greens.
The situation of the course in the higher zone of Puerto del Carmen offers the player spectacular views over the Atlantic Ocean as far as Arrecife and to Fuerteventura and Lobos.
Lanzarote Golf, a golf course located on the most volcanic island of the Canary Islands, has appointed the PGA Tour player Javier Poladura as the new director of the golf course, thus betting on professionalization in the sector.
Javier Poladura has spent his entire life pursuing a career in golf and describes himself as an “active and clear-headed athlete”. At 8, he began practising his swing on Lanzarote, and by the time he was 14, he had been crowned Amateur Canary Islands champion.
Throughout his career and development, Javier has devoted a significant amount of time to instructing others in the sport of golf.
He now has a more well-rounded understanding of the game of golf from both a competitive and a pedagogical point of view.
“I will bring the illusion with which I live golf to my new position as director at Lanzarote Golf. I want to convey the virtues of this great sport to all the people who visit the golf course, and enjoy our magnificent services”, says Javier Poladura.
The clubhouse at the Lanzarote Golf was recently renovated, and with it came the inauguration of a new golf shop and the highly acclaimed 'La Honorable' restaurant. A gathering spot where friends and family can relax and enjoy each other's company while gazing out over the undulating countryside and the line that separates the sky from the Atlantic Ocean.
To become a gathering and reference point for the community of Lanzarote, for those who practice and/or appreciate golf, and for visitors to the island, its gastronomic proposal is based on local products.
“We have our clear objectives, we will mainly focus on raising the sports proposal by providing complementary services, such as gastronomy. Our mission is to provide our customers with the highest quality, most comprehensive support possible. Our island, and therefore our countryside, enjoys some virtues that we are going to make the most of”, adds Poladura.

I have played Lanzarote of several occasions previously. The last being shortly after the course reopened after covid. The course continues to seek progress and it is encouraging to see those happening. Hole order changes, more natural zones, natural waste area an not jungle rough, black sand in bunkers. Greens slow but best to have too much grass than none. Facilities have been increased and upgraded. Hopefully in the future and I will return to see more improvements. A challenge as always with the stiff wind that blows!

We Were very well looked after from the beginning. The clubs on hire were of the finest quality. Although the start was a bit patchy with the greens not yet up to speed, we found the course interesting and challenging especially when the wind got up, which apparently it does quite often. I would certainly go back again (probably on monday) now i have gotten used to meterage and not yardage.

Course not quite up to Teguise but still v enjoyable. Great views again. A lot of blind drives. Greens much slower and friendlier to high handicapper. Excellent staff and very, freshly cooked, good classic. Golf grub at lunchtime.
