Añoreta Golf is the first 18-hole golf course to be built to the east of Malaga.The Añoreta Course was designed by the famed Ryder Cup Champion José María Cañizares. The Parador de Malaga golf course's origins date back to the 1920s and are linked to the British royal family. In 1925, construction began on the original 9-hole golf course under the technical supervision of Harry Shapland Colt (builder of Wentworth). Under the direction and design of renowned British architect Tom Simpson (creator of such famous golf courses as Turnberry, Muirfield and Ballybunion), it was expanded to 18 holes (6173 m, par 72). Years of history have made this golf course—the oldest in Andalusia—both challenging for experienced players and achievable for any golf enthusiast. Lauro Golf course near Malaga, Spain is a 27 hole golf course. In Lauro Golf the nature is everywhere. Within the whole complex the direct contact with the nature is constant. You can often see rabbits, ducks, partridges, herons and even eagles on and around the golf course, the friendly neighbours are enjoying the micro-climate of the golf course created by the thousands of trees and the fourteen lakes of the golf course. Lauro golf course was designed by the late Folco Nardi and the idea was to create a golf course that was technically challenging yet not too difficult. The extension of the golf course with the holes 19-27 designed by Mariano Benitez follows the same lines and equally requires concentration and skills. Lauro golf course is moderately flat and can be played by foot though there are two holes located on the side of the mountain and from which players can enjoy some spectacular views over the valley of Guadalhorce and the Mediterranean.
