The golf course has been totally refurbished in 2012, but have kept Robert Trent Jones Jr originall design. Mijas Los Lagos is a course with soft slopes, wide fairways, and few forest trees obstacles, but defended by many bunkers and not less than nine lakes. A buggy is a necessity as the golf course is extremely hilly and has some huge changes in elevation on and between golf holes, La Cala America have some occasional long distances between greens and tees. It’s wide, linked fairways and relatively few bunkers make La Cala America a slightly easier driving course, requiring a lot of carry across steep brush-covering side slopes, while the small raised greens demands precise club selection.You will find water hazards on the 9th and 16th.Holes 6, 9 and 18, par-5ths are particularly more challenging and the par-3 16th is a real treat to play. La Cala Europa course is 6014 metres in length, par 71. A dramatic golf course but easier for the average golfer, with generous fairways, flatter terrain and slightly larger greens than Campo America and Asia. Notable for one main bridge and four smaller bridges across the River Ojén, which features in eight holes, cutting across three fairways. There are four tunnels for golf carts. Water hazards guard the 3rd and 14th greens. The 14th is at the maximum limit of what is allowed for a par 3 at 233 metres. The par 5 11th is the longest hole at 524 metres.
