Alicante golf course is on the shores of the Mediterranean, located on the spectacular San Juan beach just 5 minutes from the centre of Alicante. Set out like a green lung in the residential area, the golf course has wide holes planted with thousands of trees and where care for the environment and savings in water consumption are priority aspects, which has won it the honour of being the first golf course in Europe to jointly obtain the two most prestigious environmental quality certificates. Severiano Ballesteros designed the spectacular par 72 golf course with a singular layout of 6 par 3, 6 par 4 and six par 5, which means that you never play two consecutive holes with the same par on the same round, an option which makes the game much more varied and amusing and gives many opportunities for a birdie. Seve designed 5 large lakes affecting 12 of the 18 holes. All of which supposes an attractive challenge for golfers of all levels. Alicante Golf is considered one of the courses with the best maintenance and design of the whole of Spain, a reputation enhanced by the performance of the important and costly green reconstruction project which lasted 5 years between 2004 and 2008, in which the course’s 18 greens were rebuilt to improve the design and the agricultural aspects of watering, drainage, landscaping and moulding. Another of the best appreciated aspects of the golf course is its practice area, with a driving range of natural grass and a very complete short play area, as well as the ruins of a Roman villa from the first century BC on the 14th hole. Alicante Golf is a noble golf course, with wide fairways and no blind strokes. The speed of the greens, the true star feature of the golf course, is at competition level and they come in an impressive state. Alicante Golf course can be considered an oasis amidst the city, a challenge for the game and a feast for the eyes. (...)
The Alenda Golf course was designed and built by Roland Favrat with the maximum respect for the original lay of the land and the estate’s natural vegetation, avoiding any aggressive movements of earth during the construction process. The golf course was completed in October 1999. It covers 49 hectares of land, 18 holes, par 72 and 6,257 metres in length, as well as an excellent practice area. (...)

Hacienda Riquelme golf course weaves its way through and around groves of olive trees, wildflower meadows, and large lakes. Taking advantage of the site’s larger scale, the Hacienda Riquelme Golf course features wider-than-average fairways allowing players plenty of room to play while creating numerous strategic options. Many of the greens are broken into several sections by strong elevation changes making it crucial for golfers to play to the correct section of the green in order to set up the easiest putt possible. Additionally, the greens also feature numerous subtle random contours and rolls further complicating putting. The unique bunkering creates a dramatic look sure to set Riquelme golf course apart from other golf courses. Many of these large rugged bunkers are very deep with sand flashing in places up to three meters. The edges of the bunkers are cut in a jagged manner further adding to their distinctiveness while accenting the more rugged nature of the golf course. In an interesting contrast to the other Nicklaus Golf Trail golf courses, Hacienda Riquelme Golf Resorts playing surfaces are grassed with the latest Paspalum varieties, decreasing the need for large amounts of fresh water. (...)
La Torre Golf Course was designed by Jack Nicklaus and offers 18 holes, par 68 with 4 tee boxes. It has more than 5 hectors of bunkers that separate the holes, creating a strategic design where shot selection is most important. Bonalba Golf course is an 18-hole par 72 Parkland Golf Course. The first 9 holes are quite technical, as you have to avoid three of the five existent lakes. The three last holes of the front 9 can spoil even the best score card, as they are the handicap 1 (par 4), 13 ( par 3), and 3 (par 4) in the course: they are called by the local golfers the ''Amen Corner'' of Bonalba golf course. The back 9, being also quite technical, requires stronger strokes. It has holes where the dominant breeze from Levante makes it difficult to reach the green, normally forcing the golfers to use more ''woods'' than usual. (...)
The El Plantio complex consists of an 18-hole par 72 and 9 hole Par 3. El Plantio par 72, layout includes a mixture of trees , water and bunkers, along with large and sloping greens to provide a excelent and challenging day of golf. (...)
Las Ramblas is an outstanding golf course in a dramatic, contrasting landscape. Las Ramblas means 'The Dry Ravines' and most tee shots are over or alongside a ravine so make sure you have plenty of balls. This is a challenging golf course even for the low handicap golfer and the greens are fast. There are many blind tees, and one hole in particular is a great par 5 risk-reward hole and some par 4´s are short and drivable if you are accurate. Buggies are recommended for this hilly golf course. (...)

Hole 17 is the Par 3 signature hole with a demanding 200m carry off the back tee onto an extremely undulating green. One of the challenges is the many old pine and olive trees. Regardless of the challenges, from several of the holes, golfers can enjoy beautiful views over the Mediterranean Sea. (...)

This golf course has been challenging experienced golfers since 1988 when it was inaugurated as Real Club de Golf Campoamor by HRH D. Juan de Borbón, Count of Barcelona, in whose honour a tournament which bears his name is held every year in August. The course emerged from the wild beauty of Dehesa de Campoamor between two interconnected valleys surrounded by small hillocks that protect it from the wind, which generates a microclimate that enables the practice of golf any time of year. With a 6,277 m round and par 72 the player enjoys a course whose laws, neatly-manicured to the highest standards of quality, are only enhanced by the lush vegetation and fauna of the area. The back nine greens (10 to 18 Holes) will be renovated during 2019 summer. (...)

Play the Jack Nicklaus trail at Saurines Golf Course, Spain. Saurines is an 18 hole, par 72, desert-style golf course but with a links philosophy, is designed by Jack Nicklaus. It is designed with influences of the Nicklaus golf course in Lake, Las Vegas. Its main characteristics are undulating fairways and greens among desert dunes, few bunkers and a great 6 hectare lake. Holes 9 and 18 go around the lake, which guarantees an exciting final. It measures a maximum of 6,498 metres. For long hitters, the par 5 holes are reachable in two, being under 480 metres, but you will have to be accurate as there are hazards left and right of the greens. The three par 3 holes are either long with two over 182 metres in length and although the 6th is short at 126 metres, the shot is played over water to a narrow green. Saurines golf course is a great addition to the golf courses in this area and is well worth a visit. A great new course that opened at the beginning of 2011 (...)
