Benamor Golf Course – Nature and Stunning Algarve Views
Located in the eastern Algarve, near the picturesque town of Tavira, Benamor Golf Course is a Par 71 course stretching 5,497 metres from the white tees. Designed by the legendary Sir Henry Cotton, the course is inspired by the region's natural beauty, with the charming old church, now beautifully restored, serving as an iconic landmark next to the 18th green.
Ideal for those who appreciate nature and the stunning views of the Algarve hills, while still being close to the coast, Benamor offers magnificent scenery overlooking both the mountains and the sea. Its fairways are surrounded by typical Algarve flora, including carob, olive, fig, and almond trees, which blend seamlessly into the landscape.
The course features undulating Bermuda Sahara fairways, providing excellent lies for both wood and iron shots. It offers a gentle start with the first four holes being relatively short, before transitioning into a more challenging experience, testing the skills of both beginners and seasoned golfers.
Benamor Golf Course also includes a Driving Range, two Putting Greens, and a Clubhouse that beautifully integrates local artwork and hosts creative gastronomic events, making each round even more enjoyable.
To complete the experience, a visit to Tavira or Olhão is highly recommended, where you can enjoy fresh seafood with stunning views of the Atlantic. For a truly unique taste, head to Cacela Velha to try the famous Portuguese Oyster, all while taking in breathtaking coastal scenery. (...)
Located along the stunning Ria Formosa Nature Reserve, Quinta da Ria Golf Course offers a picturesque 18-hole experience in the Algarve. This flat and open course is perfect for medium to high handicap players, with a friendly layout for ladies, featuring 927 meters between the red and yellow tees. Golfers can enjoy a variety of well-designed holes, lush fairways, and smooth greens, all while taking in breathtaking views of the mountains, ocean, and protected lagoon. While bunkers have lower edges, the thick rough and water hazards add a layer of challenge. The diverse hole layout ensures an engaging round, making it ideal for both casual golfers and those seeking a relaxing yet rewarding game. The course’s walkability adds to its appeal, allowing players to fully appreciate the natural beauty of the Ria Formosa. Tee times at Quinta da Ria should be reserved in advance, especially during peak golf seasons. Green fees vary, but golfers can secure discounted rates and special offers through Tee Times Golf Agency, a trusted booking partner for Quinta da Ria and other top Algarve golf courses. (...)
Quinta de Cima golf course, a championship course, is a true test for medium to low handicap golfers in Portugal’s Algarve region. This 6,159-meter, par-72 course features wide fairways, well-manicured greens, and strategic bunkers that make putting especially challenging. The tight 14th hole demands precision, with out-of-bounds areas on both sides, while wind conditions can add to the difficulty. The course’s natural beauty is preserved with centuries-old olive trees and no real estate development, ensuring a pure golf experience. Water hazards—including lakes, streams, and ditches—come into play on several holes, particularly the final three. A meandering stream affects holes 4, 5, 6, and 13, adding further complexity. Tee times should be booked in advance, especially during peak season, with green fees varying by time and availability. Golf packages offer multiple-round deals across Quinta de Cima and Quinta da Ria. Ladies’ tees provide a shorter course option, with 1,115 meters between red and yellow tees. (...)
Quinta do Vale is a Severiano Ballesteros design located close to the Spanish border.A great challenging golf course with long holes, fairly wide fairways and tricky greens. The course is very hilly so you will need a buggy. Your shot from the tee will need to be perfect or you will have trouble to reach the green. Due to the course being high if it is windy you will find it more difficult. Some holes you need to be very precise or you could finish in the water. Hole 15th a par 5 has a beautiful view to the bridge of Guadiana from the tee. Quinta do Vale would suit players with medium low handicaps and is a very friendly course for ladies enabling them to enjoy a shorter distance with 955m between the red and yellow tees. A great golf course with beautiful views over the Guadiana River. (...)
