Laranjal Golf Course
Laranjal golf course named as it was originally an orange grove and opened in 2009 is the newest Quinta do Lago golf course. Designed in an American style, very long and wide with huge fast greens. There is only one hole which is slightly high. Hole 9 is a beautiful Par 5 with water protecting the green and hole 7 is one of the longest par 3 in Portugal with 236m from the pro tees . Laranjal is a challenging golf course but would suit all players and is a special friendly golf course for ladies enabling them to enjoy 877mt less distance between the red and yellow tees. Pinheiros Altos
Pinheiros Altos Golf Course offers 27 holes divided on 3 times 9 holes golf courses : The Corks, the Pines and the Olives. Olives and Pines, golf courses each presenting different characteristics. The Olives are the old back nine and are more flat, the wind has greater influence and have some holes where the water element comes in to play. The eighth hole, island par 3, is a good choice for nearest the pin, and is also the golf courses signature hole. Pines, the original front nine, where 4 new holes have been integrated and as its name indicates presents a more parkland course, plenty of pine trees, elevations, dog legs and also 3 lakes that protect 3 very tempting greens. The 4th a short par 5, the 5th a long par 4, stroke 1 and the 6th a par 5 reachable in 2 if you had a good tee shot. Signature hole, again a beautiful Par 3 over a valley to a McKenzie green. A great golf course, very demanding and if you succeed to finish with 36 points on stabelford you probably have played your best golf. Pinheiros Altos Corks Course is the longer and more demanding of the three nine holes. Starting right on the first tee. A narrow line for a dog leg fairway. The eighth hole, is the most difficult Par 5 in the Algarve, a double dog leg of 580 yards and a narrow gap, 120 mt before a elevated green well protected by bunkers. The Corks Golf Course is also a mixture of the original 4 holes and 5 new holes with spectacular views of the Ludo valley and the Goldra hills beyond. ...
San Lorenzo Golf Course
Due to a fire that happened in the clubhouse in the Summer of 2023, the golf course is currently operating with temporary facilities. The Tees, fairways and greens remain undamaged and in excellent condition. - Food and beverages are exclusive to the buggy bar. - Temporary restroom facilities remain available throughout the premises. San Lourenco is a par 72 golf course located in Quinta do Lago and is considered one of the best and most beautiful golf courses in Europe. The fact that this is an award-winning golf course is no coincidence. Bordering with the breathtaking Ria Formosa Natural Park, some of its golf holes are blessed with what can only be described as exquisite beauty. If the first holes of San Lourenco golf course present no major surprise or challenges, after the 3rd, closer to the estuary, San Lourenco golf course starts to reveal itself. After the 5th hole, a par-3 and the course's shortest, you're introduced to a dogleg, stroke 1 sixth hole where your main challenge will be to avoid the dense shrub, so make sure you get your distances just right. As you get to the 7th, life is by no chance made easier but you still get the bonus of the outstanding views from this elevated tee before you have to focus on how to get around that green almost entirely surrounded by water. On the back nine, the 12th is the most challenging hole on San Lourenco, featuring a deep chasm along the left of a very narrow fairway. Holes 13th to 16th also face the ocean with the latter proving to be the most demanding par-3, featuring a whole 180 m carry to a shallow green. Seventeenth is, again, extremely beautiful but still falls short of the beauty that awaits you on the last hole. It is a great finale and one that will remain in your memory as it has an excellence that is renowned worldwide. It is, without a doubt, a course for special occasions, that will provide you with unforgettable beautiful moments. Quinta do Lago South
The 18-hole championship Quinta do Lago South Course opened in 1974. Designed by William Mitchell, the course received several times the Portuguese Open, with Mark McNulty and Colin Montgomerie being former title holders.
Quinta do Lago South is no shortage of character and the generous width of most fairways means that the South is a good driving course. The layout is enjoyable for players of all standards and surely, they will remember this experience.
Despite so many excellent holes we can highlight the 3th hole, a great par 4 where lake on the left can be a problem for longer hitters, the 15th, probably their signature hole 200 metres over water with hardly any ground between the water and the green – one of the very hardest par-3’s around, the 16th, a pretty par 4 which doglegs to a slightly sunken green with a glorious lakeside backdrop. The beautiful integration on the Natural Park of Ria Formosa makes this course a reference of Algarve courses.
Quinta do Lago North
The North Course was totally redesigned in 2014, by renowned architect Beau Welling, in conjunction with former European Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley.
The layout remains similar to the original design, except for the 2st hole the par 3 which now features an impressive lake that edges the fairway up to the green.
The improvements are mainly from the fantastic attention to detail in the bunker positioning, run-off areas around the greens, quality of the fairways, and bigger and more wavy greens with a speed ranging from fast to very fast.
Four sets of tees have been introduced on each hole to accommodate players of all levels. Although pine trees are present throughout the golf course, the fairways remain wide. Players will have many holes to remember, but the 12th is undoubtedly the course signature hole. 361-Metre par four which features a 3-acre lake. The hole doglegs its way around the lake in an alarming fashion leaving a treacherous approach shot to a large undulating green.
Quinta do Lago North course will require good approach shots and good putting skill.
Laranjal Golf Course
Designed by Santana da Silva, Laranjal golf course opened in 2009 and was voted Best Golf Course at Portuguese Travel Awards in 2011.
Originally an orange grove, the par 72 championship course is situated 2 km east of the resort, in the Ludo Valley. Boasting spectacular fairways and well-defined greens, Laranjal is renowned for its five beautiful lakes, umbrella pines, cork-oaks and orange trees.
Featuring five par 5s, eight par 4s and five par 3s, the course is sown with Bermuda grass on the fairways and Penn A4 on the greens, ensuring excellent putting surfaces throughout the year. The wide greens also demand good reading and confident putts.
At 6,480 metres in length, the challenging course demands the highest level of concentration and accuracy. Its distinctive rolling terrain has been expertly designed and manicured to provide a world-class golfing experience.
Pinheiros Altos
Pinheiros Altos is established as one of the most prestigious and successful premier golf and leisure resorts in Europe and owns a 27-hole Championship golf course. The Pines; Corks and Olives.

The Olives Course was the original back nine and has remained unchanged since the island green eighth hole was constructed in 1995 and became the signature hole of Pinheiros Altos and a must play hole when visiting the Algarve.
San Lorenzo Golf Course
San Lorenzo Golf Course was designed by Rocky Roquemore and Joseph Lee in 1988, and since then it has been consistently ranked alongside the best golf courses in Europe. Located around a lake formed by the Ria Formosa, presents exciting golf and stunning views, from the par three 5th where the backdrop is the beach and the sea beyond. The excitement continues at the next two holes which take you past the threatening waters of the Ria Formosa. The sixth hole, a par 4 stroke 1 of 422/399 that plays as a downhill dogleg left but paralleling the beach and ocean, ultimately ending at a well-protected small green. The finish is also particularly strong and entertaining on the opposite side of the Ria Formosa.
The 18 is a par 4 with water down the left side but then the water turns back requiring a second shot over the water to a small green protected by three bunkers. It´s a classic risk and reward finish, which brings the truly magnificent San Lorenzo to a close.
