WOW, What a golf course ! a must visit for any avid golfer whilst in the Algarve . Visually stunning from every tee box , stunning back drops but again very playable don’t let the slope index put you off , no hole disappointed us and the par 3s are great.
1st class service from arrival until you leave , Course could do with a little TLC around the edges but it’s still Fantastic and as Arnie said … I’ll be back !

A cut above for service and quality. Fantastic Jack Nicklaus signature design in great condition. Many really well laid out holes that make you think your way around the course. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Range is close to 1st tee with complementary balls waiting for you. Highly recommended

Fantastic service first of all from all the staff I had played here before in March 2013 and the course was more lush there are some stunning holes and amazing bunkering greens was running true and in good condition not a cheap venue but I wouldn’t hesitate to play again

The course is spectacular and should be experienced at least once. My group played on windy day which made scoring difficult. Condition of the course was okay but considering the cost of the green fee I would expect it to be better.

I have been lucky enough to have played this course a few times over the years and love it.
I was however disappointed with other things at the club.
The buggy seat was ripped, catching our legs as we got in and out of it.
No momento was offered to my guests and the ladies changing rooms are now quite shabby.

We are a group of 12 players who travel to a new venue every year and we have sampled many ocurses over the past 27 years. Monte Rei was considered by the Group as rating in the top 10. Long, difficult with hard to read greens. Good service, good buggies. But the pro shop was pretty much non existent.

We loved Monte Rei North. Wonderful club house and setting, friendly staff, great practice facilities, and the course was a gem.
Brilliant design with most holes isolated from the others so you felt as though you were the only ones on the course. Hard to pick a signature hole, there were many we loved, but the short par 4 12th and 13th holes still stick in my memory.

In terms of golfing, stunning and brutal in equal measure. The winds were up and the 1st hole would challenge anyone, never mind a group of middle aged guys on their 3rd round in 3 days with broken bodies. After 3 holes I think most people were of the opinion it may be a little too hard for us (handicap range 5 to 20), but after 18 holes we generally all agreed it was one of the best places we have ever played, and is a definite for next year, so look forward with a level of trepidation. In terms of general matters, there were a few small things which we were surprised about, these being that a) the golf carts didn't have any ice in the cooler box, b) the golf cart didn't have tee & ball cleaners and c) that the shop didn't have ball markers in stock which the group wanted as a memento. That said, one of, it not the, best course/venue in terms of the whole experience from arrival to departure ever, and as said will be returning next year.

As one of Europe's leading golf courses, I had been looking forward to playing Monte Rei for a long time. The greeting on arrival is impressive, and the helpful staff put your clubs on buggies, and park the car. You are then taken to the driving range and chipping/putting area, which is very good. The build up to playing the course definitely gives the impression you are getting the 'Monte Rei experience'. So to the course - the layout is excellent, but the condition was poor. That included fairways and greens. We played Quinta de Cima the following day, and it was in far better condition. So the general feeling in my group was of disappointment. 220 euro's is a lot of money, so we expected a course in pristine condition. Unfortunately that was not the case, and I will only return when reviews indicate a course in better condition. 220 euro's is not value for money.

Fantastic resort, a course with a great layout. Fast greens, dry and yellow fairways. Extremly deep bunkers, but great type of sand in them. Second best course in Portugal after Dunas at Terras Da Comporta.

Fantastic Experience, Golf Course constructed through valleys, and therefore you hardly see anyone else playing the course. But you need your A game, or lots of sleeves of balls! The staff were fantastic and tapas was wonderful!
