The Valmuza Golf Resort was designed to play host to everything from the first tentative shots of complete beginners to the most exclusive professional tournaments and will satisfy players of all handicaps. It is an attractive 18-hole round with a par of 72. Its main features are the spectacular shape of the terrain and the undulating greens; some of which, like the ones on the 3rd, 9th, and 18th, are surrounded by a strategic lake-, as well as the numerous tees and the fairways flanked by oak trees, all of which combine to create an attractive and demanding course but one which is not too taxing for amateurs.
La Valmuza Golf, located in Salamanca, in Centre Spain, whose 18-hole course was designed by Severiano Ballesteros, was renovated and will be the headquarters of the Under-16 Championship of Spain and the Women's Senior Grand Prize of the Spanish Golf Federation that will be held in April and May, respectively.
“We feel extremely pleased with the work carried out and the path we followed less than two years following the rehabilitation and reopening of the golf course. The designation of these national championships gives us great joy and an opportunity to continue growing”, says Alberto Dávila, manager of La Valmuza Golf.
“The playability and quality of the course have improved due to the work carried out on the rough, semi-rough, greens, and tees”, Dávila adds.
More than 1000 golf lessons have been given on the course since it opened less than 2 years ago, bringing the sport to a wider audience in Salamanca and the surrounding area.
“Our mission from the start has been to spread the game of golf to as many people as possible”, explains Dávila.
With the recent addition of Toptracer, a technology already widely used in Castilla and León, La Valmuza Golf is poised to become the reference course in Salamanca due to its innovative nature and the variety of golf and recreational activities it provides.
“Our goal is to become the go-to spot for fun in Salamanca for both natives and visitors alike. The reality is that we are making progress in this direction thanks to the restoration service led by Grupo DOZE, as well as other initiatives that expand beyond the realm of golf, such as summer camps, yoga classes, and themed evenings featuring live music like 'Las Noches de La Valmuza'.”, says Alberto Dávila.
“Hosting national finals of this calibre is a sign that we are on the right track”, concludes Dávila.
