Benamor Golf Course – Nature and Stunning Algarve Views
Located in the eastern Algarve, near the picturesque town of Tavira, Benamor Golf Course is a Par 71 course stretching 5,497 metres from the white tees. Designed by the legendary Sir Henry Cotton, the course is inspired by the region's natural beauty, with the charming old church, now beautifully restored, serving as an iconic landmark next to the 18th green.
Ideal for those who appreciate nature and the stunning views of the Algarve hills, while still being close to the coast, Benamor offers magnificent scenery overlooking both the mountains and the sea. Its fairways are surrounded by typical Algarve flora, including carob, olive, fig, and almond trees, which blend seamlessly into the landscape.
The course features undulating Bermuda Sahara fairways, providing excellent lies for both wood and iron shots. It offers a gentle start with the first four holes being relatively short, before transitioning into a more challenging experience, testing the skills of both beginners and seasoned golfers.
Benamor Golf Course also includes a Driving Range, two Putting Greens, and a Clubhouse that beautifully integrates local artwork and hosts creative gastronomic events, making each round even more enjoyable.
To complete the experience, a visit to Tavira or Olhão is highly recommended, where you can enjoy fresh seafood with stunning views of the Atlantic. For a truly unique taste, head to Cacela Velha to try the famous Portuguese Oyster, all while taking in breathtaking coastal scenery.

Benamor golf course is a great place to play golf and relax at Christmas.
The staff are amazing and very accommodating moving our pre-booked golf to suit the change in the weather.
The course is in good condition bunkers unfortunately are wet with the rain but they are raking every day.
Well worth a visit

An interesting layout. Not long but still challenging. In very good condition. Plenty of people were walking the course but you’d need to be fit -I took a buggy. Clubhouse a bit dated but friendly staff more than made up for that. The atmosphere seemed like being at a members club which was nice compared to the ‘corporate’ feel of the more well known courses. Just the place for a relaxed round of golf.

Always enjoy Benamor, the course and greens were in pretty good condition, and it has a nice social area to have a drink afterwards. Plus its not too far and easy to get to. The teetime of just after 11.00 was also good.

Nice short parkland course. Bunkers were not in good condition and greens had spiking and coring, not good to putt on.

Lovely course
*Parkland - Parkland / Heathland
*Undulated - Most of the fairways very undulated
*Buggy Recommended - Prominent hills in some parts of the course
*Signature Hole - 13th
*Water hazards - Only the 13th hole has a rivulet crossing the fairway
*Tree Lined - A few trees come into play on a few holes
*Exposed - As the fairways are a bit open the wind will have to be taken in consideration
*Dogleg - Nothing at 90 degrees, but long fading dog legs
